Friday Fun: Our National Parks Through the Lens of Ian Shive

I recently caught this video about the making of Ian Shive’s photography book, The National Parks: Our American Landscape via one of my favorite stops on my RSS feed, National Parks Traveler (thanks, guys!). It knocked this National Parks nerd/travel maniac right out of my chair and left me itching to dig out my hiking boots and camera backpack. I found it an exhilarating and inspiring mini-getaway and project, and I hope you do, too. Be sure to pop it out to full screen and turn up the volume – especially if your wanderlust is as strong as mine during these gloomy November days.

There are two more videos (The Southwest here and Yellowstone country here). Finally, here’s a link to search for an independent book seller by ZIP code. Most can order the books you want within a couple of days without charging for shipping – a nice way to support local businesses while tackling some early holiday shopping. (Did I just go there before Thanksgiving? Oh yes I did).
